うる星やつら episode 190 (TV anime)
Urusei Yatsura Ep. 190 review
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Ran installs a key-wound spring in the school’s clock tower and leaves. At the same time, Ten-chan decides to pay a visit to Lum’s class, where Onsen-sensei is attempting to teach English, but is distracted by Ataru loudly scarfing his lunch. Onsen-sensei flings a desk at Ataru in frustration, but it hits Ten-chan, causing him to become enraged and start flaming he place. Ataru grabs a girl to protect her, causing Shuutaro to get annoyed and Lum to get jealous. As a result, she accidentally fries Shuutaro and others in her attempt to electrocute Ataru. Ran passes by and nearly gets hit by an electric bolt as a result. Lum apologizes, but Ran says it is nothing and leaves, returning to the clock tower. She discovers she can not wind the spring, so she goes to her locker and winds a bunch of Ran dolls instead.
Meanwhile, Shinobu has had enough of the classroom brawl, so she brings it to an end by using the desks and chairs of the classroom to knock everyone into a stunned state on the ground. It is here that Ran’s dolls enter, all with a message telling Lum that Ran really isn’t upset over what Lum did to her. With that, the dolls all explode, seriously damaging the school. The Principle demands to know what happened, then takes Ran, Ten-chan, Ataru, Lum, Shinobu, and Shuutaro to an old Japanaese-style building, where he makes them sit seiza and meditate on their wrong actions. Onsen-sensei thinks that the punishment should be more severe, and the others all blame Onsen-sensei for what happened. Shinobu manages to escape the building, but the Principle prevents the others from doing so, forcing them to sit cross legged and meditate as Onsen-sensei monitors.
Shinobu runs into Ryuunosuke, who’s making a delivery on her bike, so Shinobu tags along with her. Unfortunately for Shinobu, the delivery is to the old Japanese building. Shinobu attempts to hide, but Ran outs her, causing Shinobu to proclaim that she’d never abandon the principle. A fight soon breaks out again after Ataru clings to Shinobu’s leg. During the fight, Shinobu takes out one of the support beams of the building, seriously damaging it as the others damage it further. Meanwhile, Kotatsu-neko finds the wind spring and winds the key. This causes a giant Ran doll to emerge, where it finishes the destruction of the old Japanese building before going to the city to wreak destruction while proclaiming that Ran really didn’t mind what Lum had done to her. Meanwhile, the others inspect the ruins of the building they’d been in.
Thoughts/Review:
After the non-funny episode last outing, it was nice having a humorous episode this outing.
I’ve always said that I get a kick out of the collateral damage that Lum causes in her desperate attempts to nail Ataru with a bolt of lightning. As such, I was highly amused at Shuutaro taking a hit from Lum, especially after he’d taken a hit from Ten-chan thanks to Ataru. The other collateral damage was fun too.
Although I immediately knew what would happen the moment that Ryuunosuke picked up Shinobu on her bike, I still enjoyed seeing the results of that moment when Shinobu arrives at the old school building.
The funniest part came from the mild chase sequence. That’s because the production team brought a new, unexpected twist to it, namely in having Ataru attempt to avoid getting fried by Lum by running on his knuckles while his legs were still crossed for meditation. Having Shuutaro then chase Ataru in a similar fashion made me really laugh out loud. These are the kind of fun moments I love about the series.
So, a pretty enjoyable and fun episode here. Sadly, the next episode looks to be major suckage since Kitsune returns. *_*
Ako es usted? detrás de Lum.
Again, the machine translation fails me. 🙁 As such, I’m not sure what you are trying to say. However, thanks for looking through my Urusei Yatsura reviews. ^_^
